Above the central door is a terrace, which was used by the bishop to address a crowd and give blessings. Under the right-hand tower is a small door that was used in the Middle Ages as an entrance for lepers. Near the south portal and inside the cathedral, you can see two stoups. The stoup on the right bears the coat of arms of Monseigneur Robert Cupif and at the bottom the inscription ‘In nomine patris et filii et spiritus sancti’ can be read. On the left is a stoup decorated with carvings of frogs, lizards, and eels. Also in this area is a sarcophagus believed to date back to the 11th century and by some historians thought to be the grave of Conan Meriadoc, the first Christian king of Brittany.
